It's really weird. I've checked all the settings and according to those the signature should just show up... can you see my signature?

And with the message background you mean the background when posting? I love that too, I got it from the nyoka website from the leveling popup box xD

You might want to fix the color for where it says Posts, Join Date, etc. The icon needs to be moved to the left though.
